How stong are your contractions. OOh how exciting

id; do it now..unless you think you might want to use water for pain relief!! how long are the contractions lasting?

BandofMothers · 18/05/2007 11:50

I would think when they start to hurt???, but don't know

chickenbalti · 18/05/2007 11:51

only lasting about a minute and hoping to go into the pool a bit later - will it help knock the edge off?

It can take a while for the effect to build up so put it on now

Singapore · 18/05/2007 11:55

If you are feeling you want the edge taken off, then do it now. Good luck.

a minute is good.....don't get in the pool with the TENS on!! are you having a homebirth?

Nbg · 18/05/2007 11:56

I was told to use it as soon as contractions start.

With my last pregnancy, I had it on and off for days with false starts.

The bloody thing didnt work when I finally went into labour

Will put it on now going to local birthing unit in Andover a ten minute walk away should I call them now I suppose this bit could take a while! You would'nt believe this was no 2!

Yes, though I found it a bit tricky and it didn't work, the pool sounds great but apparently not too early as it can slow things down. Good luck

as soon as possible - TENS works by stimulating your body to produce endorphins or something...it is accumulative, not immediate. Start TENS now, take it off if you want to get in the pool, and put it back on if you get out again!

Good luck.
