Saw my consultant today and she’s like to induce at 39w using the balloon method. We only had a second to talk and I didn’t get to ask anything.
My preference is to avoid induction altogether. DS was born at 35w with fast spontaneous labour and can’t imagine getting close to full term. However, if induction is the safest way to go then the balloon appeals as no drugs are used.
I’d welcome anyone’s experiences - especially how birth went afterwards. Was the balloon enough? Did you need continuous monitoring? Did you end up with intervention like foreceps? Would you have it again?
Thank you
