Does 4/5 engaged actually mean anything?

Nearly 40 weeks and 4/5 engaged. Second baby. Does this actually mean anything? Does it mean labour is imminent or is it just more stuff to get your hopes up when it means zero? Haha!

Does it actually say 4/5 engaged or is it just 4/5 written alone? The latter would be the normal thing to write and I am afraid it means 1/5 in the pelvis, 4/5 felt above. But doesn’t really mean anything either way with a second baby as you tend to engage at the beginning of labour rather than weeks before. Good luck!

I think I've read somewhere that with your second or subsequent baby that they can engage and come out again or stay engaged for a few weeks before birth, all completely normal. I'm 3/5 engaged right now and can definitely feel the extra pressure on my bladder.

I am enjoying though, being able to breathe a bit better and having less heartburn. Swings and roundabouts!

Oh I haven’t looked what they wrote but the midwife said you are four fifths engaged so the head is right deep in there. She said it can come out again but hopefully when it’s that engaged it won’t!
