Hurts to wee after c section

Had c section a week ago. A couple of days ago it started to hurt at the end of having a wee. The pain is quite high up and pretty sure some blood is coming out with it although quite hard to tell as still have minor bleeding.

Otherwise I feel fine in myself. Is this normal?

Definitely worth a trip to your midwife or GP for a check over. They can check how contracted your uterus is and dip your wee in case you have a UTISmile

With it being so recent I'd be on the phone to NHS direct tomorrow, just to be on the safe side, so please do that regardless of any other advice or reassurance you get. If you start feeling off colour, phone them a bit more promptly.

However, I had similar after my section. It felt a lot like uti pain and happened at the end of a pee. I remember mentioning it to the midwife on the ward. I was told I'd had my insides rummaged about in and discomfort was to be expected.

I would raise it though, because I still get it occasionally, and I'm 18 months down the line. I'm assuming scar tissue or surgery damage.

Don't worry! That's just scarring from where the catheter was in your urethra/bladder. It'll feel completely better in a few days. X

I think you should get it checked but I had exactly the same. I think it was better within 10-14 days.
