Recommendations for Hypnobirth Audio/Books

I am really keen to practice some hypnobirthing technicques but feeling a little daunted as to where to begin.

I am keen to try and book and audio but would prefer something I can listen to on my phone as opposed to a CD.

Has anyone got any recommendations?

TIA :-)

I downloaded Maggie Howell and Sophie Fletcher to listen to. I found the Maggie Howell a bit better than Sophie fletcher (more to do with voice than content). I listened to them before and during labour and tbh found the relaxing music chapters the most useful to help me relax.

I found the good birth companion book the best and preferred them to the audio books. The book talks about gravity pulling the baby down the birth canal and other visualisations.

I also watched YouTube videos by a couple of hypnobirthing midwives who showed you how to breath - 4 seconds in and 7 out then J breathing for labouring.

Found it really useful to see how to breathe and I used it during labour.

I couldn't get to any classes and I found the videos and books I used and the birthing ball really useful and helped me get through a good chunk of the labour.

Good luck!

I’ve just started reading Mindful Hypnoborthing by Sophie Fletcher and so far so good. If you have one locally I’d also recommend a pregnancy yoga class - had my first this morning and really feel like the breathing exercises especially will be a god send. The positions and stretches are all adjusted to be suitable for pregnancy and it’s a great way to meet other mums to be as well :)
