Elective C-section - is delivery close to your due date or earlier?

Sorry if this seems like a silly question, but I've got placenta praevia so may need an elective c-section.

If this is the case do they tend to book you in for delivery close to your due date or do they do it earlier? One of my friends told me they would book me in at 38-39 weeks and I forgot to ask my MW if this was still the case last time I saw her - duh!

If anyone has experience of this I'd really love to hear about your experiences.

Thanks, FilBrit x

Should be as close to 39 weeks if possible. depending degree of praevia will depend when they think they can get to without bleeding TBH.

They do it one to two weeks early, mine was one week early.

Thanks, call me a control freak but feel happier now knowing roughly when it will happen!
