Regarding 3rd child

Hi I was just wondering if you have to make income support and child tax credits aware of 3rd child as you dont get paid for more than 2 children ? Is it just child benefit you have to make aware ?

I would do because at some point child 1 will be too old for benefits and you'll want them for child 3.
