Dd2 was induced. Had pessary at 8.30 and she was born 11.00am.

I was over gym ball at start and just surfed net to keep mind off things. Then body told me to push. I stayed standing for most of it ( think gravity helped) and baby was going to be delivered with me standing up with mattress underneath but last minute midwife got me on bed.

Didn't get pain relief though was all for it and asked midwives to keep me fully updated as to deadlines for epidural etc. Just a quick birth.

Knew lying in bed not best position for me.

Really positive experience

Good luck!!!

I've been induced twice - first time they broke my waters, second they gave me pessaries. Both ended up being quick, uneventful labours (whole thing took 4 - 6 hours) and three pushes at final stage for baby to come out. I'd be happy to be induced again if I were ever to have another baby.

Best of luck Flowers

Hiya

Had daughter in 2014 and after three reduced movements so after a check on Wednesday night I had another consultant appointment on Thursday and was admitted Friday and had a really good experience.

Pessary at 2pm, monitored for 3hrs, had dinner and walk round place and then a sweep before 10pm. Backache from hell but painkillers helped and slept well.
Next morning had a check and pessary 2, another sweep and down to labour room after 5pm. Waters broken after 6pm and mostly on gas and air until I felt her stuck so a quick numb up and episiotimy and boom she was born on Sunday at 7.50am with help of forceps which I asked for.

No injury to her or me and healed quickly and healthy baby.

I'm due in August and will have another induction as consultant based again and don't have any qualms about it

Good luck mama.

I was induced with my second. The pessary went in at 12pm. The contractions really started about 1am and DS2 was born at 4.30am in about 5 pushes.

Both my babies were pessary inductions. Very positive experiences. Once they've done it and monitored you for a bit, ask if you can go home. I did this the first time. Had tea and went to bed. The contractions started in the early hours. Just like natural labour.

The second time I was on my way home when the contractions started. Headed back and DS was delivered one hour later (water birth - beautiful).

Good luck my love. xx
