Has anyone been through labour whilst being ill? Flu/virus

I have two auto immune diseases already. One being RA which was triggered through dds birth. So naturally I'm worried about that as some days it takes me an hour to open my hands properly and the pain in my joints is agony.
I'm 2 days overdue now and I've come down with this horrible virus thing. I feel like death as well as having very low iorn and the prescription for iorn tablets doesn't seem to be helping at all.
I'm really worried I'm going to be too.. Weak? To even push a baby out right now.
I'm terrified for being c sectioned and I planned to stay at home for as long as possible for my 11 month old dd. But I'm terrified it's going to make it more difficult than it needs to be.

How did you all find it ill if you were ill giving birth? I'd also be worried about it potentially passing to my newborn :(

I did part of labour when I had sepsis. Ended up with a section for a mixture of reasons.

I went into early labour with my 3rd after getting norovirus from DD at nursery. I started contracting, rang labour ward who told me to stay away in utter horror but the contractions were getting stronger and stronger. In the end, I rang OOH and a GP saw me and sent me straight in! I've never felt so ill in my life and it made the pain 1000 times worse. Luckily after seeing a Doctor I was put on a drip and after a few hours the contractions subsided.... I was only 30 weeks.

I think being unwell can affect your pain threshold but to be honest, most people feel crappy in labour anyway. They will monitor you very closely if you're feeling unwell to check for sepsis/infection etc, so I'd try not to be too worried and just make sure you get lots of rest.

I had a temperature and a cold/flu when i went into labour with Dd. I was 37.2 weeks and they decided to keep me on the labour ward, thankfully because i gave birth 2 hours later. The birth went well and i didnt need any pain relief at all.
Dd caught the cold off me poor little thing but she was fine.

I'm really scared it'll affect everything :( I think it's just a really bad cold but I have tietze syndrome which can feel like I'm having a heart attack as most people describe if it flares up. I'm really frightened. Thanks for your replies x

I had pleurisy when I gave birth to DS2 in 2010. I was in absolute agony.
After giving birth I had an X-ray and the docs discovered I had 3 broken ribs too.
I had a natural birth but with an epidural.
