When was your DC1 born?

35 weeks today and having a ponder...

If your DM/DGM gave birth before EDD, did you?
Or if they went over, did you?

I know the general understanding is that first babies are nearly always late, but my DM never went over with any of us (I'm hoping this may bode well for me, and that I won't have another 5+ weeks of this Grin)

@blinkineckmum that's pretty good to only have one overdue!

Don't get me wrong, I know baby will come when he/she is ready, but I'm definitely getting to the stage where it's the sooner the better for me and my aches and pains Smile

I'll be getting bouncing on my ball from tonight!

Mum had me bang on my due date, my brother was 10 days overdue. I had DS at 40+4.

Bobbiepin · 23/03/2018 08:28

Mum had my older sister 10 days early. I was on the scan estimated due date.

I had DD 2 days before scan estimated due date but 42+1 from LMP dates (which were wrong due to my abnormally long cycle).

Bluntness100 · 23/03/2018 08:33

I was two days early' i was due on Xmas day. I was induced on my due date due to some complications and my daughter was born the following evening.

Winchester13 · 23/03/2018 08:33

I was born three weeks early but I’m a twin. I had my daughter 1 week early. :)

bakingcupcakes · 23/03/2018 08:38

My Mum was 2 weeks early. She had me 10 days late and my DS was 15 days late. I read somewhere that it might be linked to a woman's cycle length before pregnancy. Shorter cycle length equals earlier baby. My cycle length is 33/34 days so it fits that I had a late baby. Obviously this doesn't really work if you've had multiple kids and some are early and others late! I thought it was quite logical though.

My DM was 2 weeks early for DB and I was born on my due date!
My DD was 9 days late

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 23/03/2018 17:16

I was late (story of my life really) and went into labour with ds at 38+4.

Got everything crossed this baby hangs around until my elective section but the community midwife thinks the fact that I have a 26 day cycle means it might be touch and go.

Nomad86 · 23/03/2018 18:12

I was born two weeks late as was my DH. Both our DC were late.

Poppies9629 · 23/03/2018 18:24

Out of six from my NCT group 1 was late, 1 on time and 4 early - all first time mums.
My dd was 8 days early which I put down to constant bouncing on the birthing ball from about 30 weeks!

Mammyloveswine · 23/03/2018 18:27

My mum had my brother around 40 weeks, my sister at 36 weeks and then me and my twin at 29 weeks!

DC1 was due on the 6th, went into labour on the 7th and had him on 8th.

DC2 was born bang on his due date! I did have an overnight stay at 36 weeks due to having contractions but he changed his mind!

Roomba · 23/03/2018 18:29

34+5 weeks.
DC2 - 38+0 weeks

BabyBooDue · 23/03/2018 18:32

Still living reading these replies! Thank you all

@Poppies9629 so bouncing on the ball is the answer?! Excellent! GrinI will come back and complain to you if I go to 42 weeks Wink

I was dc1 and I was born 14 days late. My own dc1 was born 11 days late.

Saz1995 · 23/03/2018 18:38

I was born 13 days late, my brother was born 8 days over and I gave birth to my son 11 days late

TriJo · 23/03/2018 22:44

I was 9 days late, brother was 21 days late, sister was 9 days early.

DS1 was 8 days overdue, DS2 was 11 days early after a lengthy induction.

DramaAlpaca · 23/03/2018 22:49

DM had me on my due date & my sibling two days early.

My DC1 arrived 5 days early.

LinoleumBlownapart · 23/03/2018 22:50

I was born on my due date and so were my first and last. My others both came a few days either side of the due date.

Congratulations. Make the most of that waiting time, it's frustrating when you're living but it's a lovely time to look back on.

Baubletrouble43 · 24/03/2018 08:54

My brother ( her first) was induced she says a week early the docs say two weeks late. He was under 6 pounds so she was probably right. I was born on my due date ( family home the only time I've ever been on time in my life) and my dd1 was 11 days late. No pattern that I can see

Baubletrouble43 · 24/03/2018 08:56
