ELCS in 4 weeks and not been given any information. What to expect?

I had my ds 2 years ago by emcs due to fetal distress.
The hospital advised me this pregnancy at 14 weeks to go elcs this time unless I particularly strongly wanted a vbac, just due to how quickly ds had deteriorated for no known reason during my labour (within a couple of mins his heart had virtually stopped and there was little oxygen in his brain - thankfully he was fine).
I've only met with the consultant once since then and that was this week but it wasn't really what I was expecting. It was just me signing all the consent forms. I asked her a couple of questions that I could remember such as what happens if I go into labour earlier but she was very distracted and couldn't get me out fast enough! I asked her if I can drink anything and she just said "read the literature" I told her I haven't been given a thing and she said she'd put some in my notes to take home. When I got home there was nothing! !
I've called the antenatal clinic and they said they'd post some stuff out but I'm really apprehensive now. I'm quite a control freak who likes to know what to expect. Some people have said you can't wear nail varnish. I always have gel nails does this mean I need it off?
Can I drink? Is this all the kind of stuff they go through at my pre-op ? I'm just stressing as my csec is booked on my due date so there's a chance baby may come earlier and I feel like I don't know what to expect! Do I have to take my earrings out?
Please tell me what I need to know! Thanks

Hello! I have mine tomorrow morning and I was told to take off all jewellery, all nail polish (hands and feet), and not eat anything after dinner the night before.
