Post childbirth bleeding

Had my little girl 4 and a half weeks ago and my bleeding subsided massively and was pretty much a blood tinged discharge...then on Monday I started bleeding again and yesterday and today the bleeding has become like a heavy period again! Has anyone else had anything like this?? I’m not sure whether it is perhaps my period returning, I started the pill again 21 days post birth, but I never had periods on this pill prior to having my little girl.

Lochia can tail off and then start again quite dramatically. Normally any bleeding in the first 6 or so weeks can be assumed to be postnatal bleeding.

Have you been more active?
That what usually set mine going again.
Remember your womb basically has a raw place where the placenta was, and it's big!

@mineofuselessinformation oh if only I had the energy to be more active! 🙈 I’ve been making the odd trip to playgroup and Tesco etc but nothing notable. I suppose I have underestimated quite the size of where the placenta has come away, to be fair!
