Cervical ripenin balloon catheter induction

I’m currently 39+3 and I’m booked in for an induction on Friday (due date) hoping for a VBAC. Because it’s a VBAC they can only do a balloon catheter induction which I’d never previously heard of. Does anyone have any experiences with it please? I’m dreading it more than the birth.
They tried to do a sweep at 37 weeks as he was measuring big (7lb 4oz) but was impossible as my cervix wasn’t ready and my obstetrician tried again on Friday at 39 weeks, said he could reach the cervix and had a sweep about but was conscious of it hurting me Hmm surely that’s for me to decide? Another sweep with the midwife booked for tomorrow, hoping that little man makes his appearance before Friday.

I had this with dd2 was hoping for a vbac it's a bit uncomfortable and a little cold when they first put the water in the balloon but not painful it has a high success rate as well according to a midwife relative but unfortunately didn't work for me

My baby is 8 weeks old today, I was terrified of that balloon! 😂 some people say it's useless though, but some people say it works. About 50/50. Not many areas seem to offer it though? I didn't have it, I refused and waited. Good luck

It seems to be more commonly used in USA so maybe browsing some American forums might be helpful for you.
