Weird first period after birth

First 'period' started last week. I'm 11 weeks PP and it's just a really weird period.

I've had really bad cramps, headache, back pain, nausea - all my usual symptoms. But I've only had about half a teaspoon if that of dark brown blood since this started a week ago. It feels like I'm ready to explode, but nothing is coming out if you know what I mean.

Is this an actual period, do you think? I'm still really uncomfortable, crampy and bloated and unsure what to think. I have endometriosis and have only ever had really heavy periods, but this doesn't seem normal either.

Sorry if this isn't the best place for this.

Have you had sex since giving birth?

IHateYourCarpet · 07/03/2018 10:06

Yes Another. Condoms used each time, no obvious holes so hopefully I'm not pregnant again! I guess I should test anyway, just to be on the safe side Sad

Yes, do a test.

The other possiblity was that you'd be sewed up to much, so the blood couldn't get out, but if you've had sex that obviously isn't the case (happened to a friend of mine).

Ugh. Test purchased, I guess one now and one in a couple of weeks to be safe?

For what it's worth, penetration isn't 'easy'. Lubrication isn't an issue. Even though we've had sex, it's been pretty quick as it's just too painful. But I figured that's normal after an episiotomy? I wouldn't think the stitches are too tight.

Thank you for replying Smile I'm just really not sure what's normal and what's not.

I'd maybe make an appointment to see the go.

IHateYourCarpet · 07/03/2018 13:55

I have an appointment in a couple of weeks Sad I'm still waiting to get a referral letter so I can get a coil fitted.

I'm sure I'm not pregnant. But now that I think about it even my after birth bleeding was really light compared to what I was told to expect!

I had an episiotomy and forceps and am now 12 weeks post partum. stitches got infected early on, and wound healed slightly open, but sex still feels good - no pain (didn't try til 11 weeks). If you're still feeling a lot of pain, might be worth getting checked?
