My amazing water birth

Well my beautiful boy arrived on his due date and was born in the pool still in his sac!
Labour pains started Wednesday around 7pm and by 10 I realised this was it. Managed the pain with baths, showers and a hot water bottle and decided to go in when contractions were 3 to 4 minutes apart, at 8am.
Got checked around 8:30 And was thrilled to be 4cm dilated. I went in the pool about 9/9:30 And managed without pain relief until about 11 when I had gas and air. I realised my body needed to push and the midwife told me to just go with my body. I did so and before i knew it baby was crowning (ouch!) Then he was out! It was so amazing and calm, 3 hours of active Labour! I would highly recommend the birthing pool if possible! This was my second baby but a much quicker and easier Labour!

I really want a water birth and love reading people’s positive experiences with them!! I’m 35 weeks and a first time mum so actually crapping myself a little bit about how I’m going to get through it - but everyone I know who had a water birth tends to speak highly of it! Hopefully I can get a pool, my birth centre only has three of them 😕 x

Ah I hope so! I found it helped so much with calming me down!
