Just wondering if I could see if any other people on mn have any experience of the above .

By way of background I have had to wait 9 weeks (and still waiting really) to be bounced from both my local hospitals as they're over subscribced for when I'm due (September) and am still waiting for confirmation that I'll get into a third choice (was offered Chelsea and Westminster or St Peters & Ashford -both fo which are 30 minutes plus from me by car on a good run). Cos of the way they arrange mw appointments here (via hospital not GP) this has also had knock on effect of no MW appt (all my scans been done privately to date - only found out way after event that could have been done independently on NHS) and only seeing GP for first proper visit (

Have taken other steps now about getting antenatal etc care as can't wait any longer for PCT to sort this out..

But trying to be positive about this I really want to do everything I can to write to anyone possible to raise this and actually get someting done to improve it. Giving babies is always going to happen so how come its so hard to sort out a sensible system.

Any ideas on who to write to (Got various MPs etc names but would be good to hear more) or if anyone else has experience in this area( or any others) please let me know. From a quick scan of the local papers website the lack of maternity beds/resource seems to have cropped up 3/4 years ago. Question -why has nothing been done about it given its long been known to be a problem of having somewhere around maybe 500 beds a year short in this area ?

Not sure if this is teh right thread but thought it was a good place to start.
