Chances of spontaneous labour?

Hello all, I am 40+3 and no sign of anything much happening.

Had a failed sweep on Friday, she said the outside was beginning to soften but not the inside yet. Have another sweep booked on Tues. I have been having cramps on and off for weeks now, not very sore but definitely noticeable. I have tried raspberry leaf tea, pineapple, long walks, dates, and sex. Don’t think I have lost mucus plug yet, and haven’t noticed my waters going. When I massage my nipples some liquid comes out, so I wonder if my body is getting close? I’ve just had a pregnancy massage to relax me, which was lovely.

My question is: how likely is it I will go into labour myself soon? I have been booked in for an induction in 9 days time, which I am keen to avoid, if I can.

Does anyone have positive stories of labour beginning around about 41 weeks?

ThanksSmile

Sorry no - I think I wrote a similar post myself in fact! However I had a good induction at +13 days and I found it totally fine and wish I wasn’t as worried about inductions. (Plus b

...being an organised person, it was nice knowing the approx day my LO would be born rather than having waters break spontaneously at home or something - so if I could choose an induction again I would!)

Yes I do, with my first. I was 41+5 and I went into natural labour the day my induction had been scheduled, up until then had had sweeps with no luck and then woke up that morning and contractions started and 4 hours later baby arrived. Good luck and fingers crossed baby appears soon for you x
