Consultant???

Sooooooooo my instincts were right all along. It wasn't right that I haven't seen a consultant now I've had 4 x reduced movements. It was right after the 2nd. My community midwife is wrong to have said babies pattern had changed because hospital said they shouldn't so far along. Been told I'm having a 'HUGE' Baby which no one told me before. Just said her belly was measuring large and to go for diabetes test which I did and was told that midwife should follow up large belly. She never did. The doctor was disgusted I haven't been seen by a consultant yet.

Sending me to day assessment tomorrow for another scan and to speak with a consultant to get a plan in place. In his words how where and when I want my baby to be delivered.

Also my community midwife has measured me wrong twice now and I swear on purpose. First at 34 weeks she said I was 35 but hospital measured me at 38. And today she measured 37 when hospital measured me at 41!! It's as if she cbb to do it correctly as she doesn't want to refer me..

Anyone know how I go about asking for a different midwife as I don't want to see her at my 40 week appointment if baby still isn't here???

Also anyone seen a consultant late in pregnancy for reduced movements?what happened??

First things first. Don't panic. If I was in your shoes I would ask for an urgent growth scan, not just having belly measured. That will tell you not just a better idea of size, but if baby is in proportion. Then speak to the consultant to make a plan, then deal with midwife.

Depending on your plan you could choose to have all your future appointments at the hospital, they may even recommend this.

This time I have been seen in day assessment for all of my midwife appointments. They have been fantastic to a woman. The last time round I had a pretty varied experience with the community midwives, one of them I wouldn't let through my door again.

Good luck, I hope you get all the info you need.

Thank you had urgent growth scan today and head measuring 42 weeks belly 44 weeks and thigh 40+3. I'm 38 weeks. I'm at dau and been here since 10am. More reduced movements so 5 x reduced movements now.

Doctor is going downstairs to speak with a consultant now about a plan.

I measured 47 weeks today by bump measurement 😂😂

I've cried my spd is so bad I can barely sit or stand without hurting or lay down but sitting and walking around since 10am to now has made me horrendous pain

Duenov I wouldn't worry about seeing your midwife if you get to 40 weeks, based on what you've said I believe you'll be induced soon.

If you're not happy with your care you need to speak to PALS. Your community midwife will not have measured you 'wrong' on purpose, its just a very subjective measurement. 3 different people will get 3 different measurements. If you don't want to see her then ask to have an appointment with a different midwife, but like a pp said it sounds like you will be induced.

From one midwife to the next, that bump measurement will be different as it's very subjective and down to the user. Additionally, the reduced movements should have been followed up by the day assessment unit as they deal with the complexities surrounding pregnancy. It would have been those whom your midwife would have referred you to.

As for changing midwife, if your clinic is run by the same midwife then just change clinic or asked to be seen by the day assessment unit from now on.

The good news is you are past 37 weeks, so your baby is cooked and if they need to come out sooner than later then that shouldn't pose a problem.

I hope you have a plan you are comfortable with, even if it wasn't plan A.
