Can some contractions be stronger than others?

I'm in labour with my first but not sure what happening! Either contractions every 4ish mins varying in strength or every 7ish mins alternating between excrutiating and bearable but yeaowch.

Don't want to phone mw too early as i prefer to be home chilling with dp than at hosp with people fussing!

Sounds normal, I had contractions that varied in strength for the first hours. Contractions every 7 minutes is already established labour of course, but you could still wait before calling your mw. If they are more like every 4 minutes though I would call the mw now, even if they are not excruciating. Good luck!!!

Yes! Mine never made it to the 3 in 10 mins holy grail so I'd call now too.
