At how many weeks did you have your ELCS?

We are thinking of ttc for baby 2 and this time I will probably go for an elcs.

To help us when to decide to start trying, when did you have your elcs?

TIA

Unless there's any concerns they usually book you for the first available date after 39 weeks.

It is very rare for uk medical insurance to cover pregnancy so I would check your cover first

How will that help you decide when to ttc? I had mine bang on 39 weeks (breach baby).

I would prefer if possible for the baby to be born from September onwards as I don't want them to the youngest in the year group but I am very aware that plans don't always happen.

39 weeks exactly! But not sure how you can plan so preciselyHmm

Changerofname987654321 · 02/10/2017 12:40

We would not start ttc until 35 weeks before September. Having a baby later would be fine but for school things and because it would make a bigger difference to my maternity leave I would prefer not to have another baby before September.

I get the September thing, I just didn't realise you needed to be so specific.

DuggeeHugs · 02/10/2017 16:41

Mine was 38+6 because my consultant likes them done on Thursdays Confused

ChristmasAccountant · 02/10/2017 16:45

39 weeks exactly

SoPassRemarkable · 02/10/2017 16:48

National guidelines say not before 39 weeks unless a medical indication. So first slot after you turn 39 weeks.

Lightsoutandawaywego · 03/10/2017 09:50

39 weeks exactly for me

BaskingTrout · 03/10/2017 20:18

39+1 here. Would have been 39 exactly but we gave DS one last chance to stay head down. He didn't.

superking · 03/10/2017 20:21

39+3 because of bank holiday weekend.

Landy10 · 03/10/2017 20:21

37+4 but that was twins (you never know Wink)
