Someone to be at the birth

I've been looking to have someone support me during the birth of my second baby as my DH is currently AWOL but I'm struggling to find any Doulas who are available.

Would a private midwife serve the same purpose? I just really don't want to go through it alone. Any suggestions for alternatives for a birth partner?

Thanks

Do you have a close friend who might suport you?

Can you get a student midwife to follow you? They are very enthusiastic and supportive

And free...

You can hire private midwife for your help. This is a good idea. I was alone at the time of birth. It was so distracting for me. I really missed my family and my partner. I was in another city during birth time. My family come almost after a day. I was so sad. I never forget that time. You can also ask you friend or some family member to be with you at birth time. My sister had to go with c-section when her second child was came. She also had one child of 4 years. She called for second sister at the birth time. It was quiet helping for her. I was no idea about it at that time. But now I thinks that it is very courageous.
