Am currently 39+4, had a consultant appointment on Tuesday where he gave me a sweep. Today I've eaten a whole pineapple, bounced on my ball, been for a walk and ahem had a couple of orgasms. This evening I've lost my mucus plug and had about 5 early contractions (not painful but a weird feeling washing over me then top of bump going rock solid for a bit then relaxing again) I've also been pooing alot and feel abit nauseous (the whole pineapple maybe?) Now I'm laying in bed the tightenings have stopped unless I've just stopped noticing it. I suddenly feel scared and panicky that this might be it Sad

Had irregular mild contractions all night then got up this morning and...nothing Sad been for a long walk, ate (another) pineapple and currently on knees leaning over exercise ball willing it to start again

Try some nipple stimulation.

Good luck op, not a fan of this stage.

Get hoovering! Got things going for me more than once!!

If those don't hurt and stopped, they're probably Braxton Hicks rather than labour contractions.

I'd just stay active and hang in there. It could still be a few weeks yet.

SunSeaAndSangria · 22/09/2017 16:32

All the best op (not place marking at all, no Grin)

MissJSays · 22/09/2017 16:33

Aw good luck!

Tried some nipple stimulation as well but they're so sore I couldn't really do it properly. They did get to the point where I was having to concentrate my breathing through them as they hurt, I ended up having some paracetamol as I had a really awful headache and have read that paracetamol can inhibit contractions and prolong the latent phase

oh! It looks like baby time to come out. Best wishes for you. I was also afraid of labor pain. I decided to go for c-section from very start. I was in labor pain for almost 7 hours. My doctor was not willing for a c-section. They waited If I could do it. My hubby also said me for vaginal birth. The labor pain was not hard. But it was my fear that lead to c-section. My baby bone was small and I din't dilated much than 2cm. The baby was healthy. I could not gave birth without operation. At last, doctor agreed for a c-section. But I will advice you don't be afraid. Vaginal birth is safe and not too much hurting. The labor pain is bearable. Go for it. C-section has many after effects for the whole life.
