Early labour help!

So I'm due tomorrow and have been having twinges all day that suddenly got regular and spoke to the midwives at my chosen hospital who reckon I'm in early labour... but these contractions keep going on and off. I know this could happen for a few days but I'm desperate for this baby to arrive now; does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can keep these contractions going?

When I was in early labour and having on and off contractions my midwife told me to walk walk and walk some more. She told me that the movement would help to keep them regular and the gravity on the baby might help me to dilate. I'm not sure if any of it was true or she was just telling me that to keep me busy! Either way I do think it helped people often say up and down stairs helps also if you know anyone that does acupressure there are certain points that apparantly help induce and rehjlaye contractions.

I know you're desperate for the baby but I took the opportunity to sleep through the on/off contractions. I'm glad I grabbed some kip. Almost managed.to.sleep (on and off) up to 7cm

I was in on/off labour for 6 days with DC1. My midwife said she thought it was due to DC's head being bent to the side, therefore putting sporadic pressure on my cervix. Walking, especially up stairs, bouncing on a ball, and circling your hips apparently help.

I spent the best part of early labour in bed, within half an hour of getting up and pacing up and down my waters broke and then things really started to get going.

Good luck!!

Thanks everyone! I took myself off to bed as thought I should probably get some rest and had contractions all the way up until 10.30 but they've all gone now :( just bouncing on my ball and hopefully, something will happen soon!
