3rd DC and labour so long

I've been in labour since yesterday afternoon. At about 8pm my contractions became very strong but only every eight minutes. They have stayed that way since. The pain is starting to be unbearable and I don't know what to do. I know everyone is different but surely a third baby shouldn't take this long? Everyone I know seems to have had 2 hours births with their third! I'm feeling incredibly anxious about it and also unsure as to whether I'll be able to cope for much longer as obviously have been awake for a vvv long time. Any advice or experience would be hugely appreciated.

My third was the hardest too so you have my sympathy.

Get to the hospital if you're worried or struggling to cope with the pain.

I had a ridiculously long birth with my first and being stressed definitely made it harder. Go to the hospital. Take the pain relief they offer if you feel able to - remember there are no medals for not doing so - and then you may get a little sleep before the final push. We both know that there's little rest after that!
