C section stitches external pulled

Hi ladies

Firstly i hope this is in the right place. I recently had an abscess on an ovary removed and was given a c section incision as they didn't know which ovary was effected. I'm now 3 weeks (nearly 4) into healing and I've just noticed one of my stitches has ripped through the skin. There's no open wound but you can tell it's pulled out almost like a missed stitch. I was told I had dissolvable stitches and glue but the stitch is still in a whole piece and I don't think it's dissolved under the skin at all.

Is it normal for a single stitch to pull loose from the skin? I've never had any children so have no experience with c sections and haven't got a midwife to speak to.

I have had the same surgery as you 10 years ago and a c section 3 years ago. After my c section this happened to me. Have it checked out by a nurse because mine was the result of an underlying infection made worse but the stitch itself not dissolving.

I haven't had any pain with it and looks clean but I'll definately have it looked at.

I have found it so hard to find info on aftercare with this type of procedure and the hospital kind of turfed me out because of lack of beds so it's been a guessing game.

I hope you have family and friends nearby to help you. I thought recovering from ovarian surgery was tougher than recovering from my c section. Be careful not to lift x

Yeah family have been great, they've been running about for me hehe. I've have had some very odd cravings for soft foods though, mashed potatoes, pasta, yoghurts, soups and bags and bags of crisps and dip 😶

I've had the same surgery 3 years ago and agree with pp that my recovery from it was along longer then my c section.

I went to see my nurse for regular check on stitches (they didn't hurt) because didn't want to risk infection.
