Am I in early labour

Okay so yesterday I went to the mw in the morning and she said I was 3/5 dilated but wouldn't do a sweep ( I'm 40+3 ) so I have one booked in for Tuesday. Anyway later during the day iv started getting a cramping/contraction pain but just passed it off as iv had it before and it's just gone away but last night it wouldn't stop I managed to get to sleep woke up once around 6 had one "contraction" and then I went back to sleep then this morning I thought they had gone but they started again and so I started to time it and they are about 18 minutes apart. Also I don't know if this has anything todo with it but I also woke up this morning with a blocked up nose and feeling kinda ill. Could this mean I'm in early labour ??

It could be labour.
Try and keep yourself active and distracted and you'll soon know.

Good luck OP, is this your first?

Could be early labour but it may be a while before it really ramps up. Is it your first?

Patience is a virtue. In your shoes I'd be crawling into bed and trying to will myself to sleep, or playing the distraction game. It will all become clear at some point, and trying to get a definitive guess from Internet sprites isn't going to make much difference one way or the other. Focusing on it and stressing, if anything, is likely to delay it further. Grin
Good luck.

I had this with my first (and second) and it went on for days and I obsessively counted them and sent the dog off to MILs two nights in a row convinced I would go into active labour that night, having baths at 3am etc but all it did was drive me mad and make me exhausted for when it really kicked in. She arrived about 3-4 days later.
Second time around I tried to keep busy and go for a longish walk and then just try and rest. Much better labour.
Third time around I will be doing the same - resting up for the real contractions!
Good luck!
