Belly belts after a caesarean

Hi I'm having a planned c section two weeks today and I've succumbed to the American trend of buying a post partum belly belt.
I've just got one off Amazon that had good reviews and didn't break the bank if it's no good.
I'm not trying to be vain I'm going to look pregnant for a long time afterwards as I've got a huge fibroid to deal with. I'm planning on using it purely for support and feeling secure.

Has anyone used one? Did you use it straight away? Or did you wait until the incision had healed?

Thanks x

I really don't think it's a good idea to put anything tight on an open wound Hmm

I had one, a cheaply off amazon, and it was fantastic. Your wound will have dressings on it so it won't exactly be 'on an open wound'.

Mine made me feel supported and more comfortable, I wore it every day for about a month. It wasn't that easy to put clothes over the top (well you could but you could see it) so I mainly wore it around the house.

They are very often recommended in states. In uk after my csection everyone told me not to use it and I was a chicken shit to put it on with out healthcare person that believes it. I think they have many benefits but I would not use it without doctor's advice.

Agree with JigglyTuff. Its better to get your wounds all healed before you go for a band. I don't see the need for such hurry for it so early. Why not give yourself some time at least two or three weeks after the c section as you need time to recover from the surgery too.

I wish I'd had one. Anything that gives a little more support when you feel like your innards are very unsupported would've given me more confidence post-birth.
