Does it count if you lose your plug after a sweep?

Just that really.

Had a sweep Friday and have been losing my plug ever since. Been cramping etc too but nothing regular or replacing contractions.

Got excited when I saw my plug, but does it 'count' if it's following a sweep (i.e. could it just be because of all the messing around rather than a precursor to labour)?

*representing, not replacing!

It doesn't mean labour will start . I mean it could start but if not get too excited just yet . It's a sign your cervix is getting ready for birth so all heading in right direction . Good luck

Thanks: so if my cervix wasn't getting ready then I wouldn't have lost my plug? Am trying to work out if it shows that my cervix is getting ready or if it's just a result of the consultant messing around up there (and so has nothing to do with the state of my cervix).

It'll be because your cervix is heading in the right direction- but doesn't really mean a lot, you can lose your plug and still not go into labour for days/weeks
