Worried about shoulder dystocia

I'm expecting DC2 in a few weeks and starting to really think about birth options.

DC1 was a planned section for breech at 39 weeks. He was a robust 10lb 3oz.

Up until now I have been quite cavalier about wanting a VBAC but as the time draws closer I'm second guessing myself a bit. This baby is measuring on the large side so far, following a consistent line off the chart - I think I must just make big ones! I have a growth scan scheduled for next week followed by a consultant appointment to make a final decision between VBAC and ELCS.

The main thing that worries me is shoulder dystocia. I know people birth big babies naturally but I don't know whether I'd be better off avoiding the trauma of a difficult labour and potential EMCS and just lump for the ELCS.

Any advice? Anyone experienced shoulder dystocia with a VBAC?
