Overdue- anyone else?

So today I'm 40+3 and really getting fed up. Anxious too. Just want it all over and done with!
Declined a sweep on Tuesday but guessing I'll accept it at my next appointment as I really want to avoid an induction.

Had some pains last night but it's all died down now.

So who else is in the club?

Me! Sweep couldn't be done so it's induction time for me. Keep going back and forth on whether I want it though.

Oh no! Why couldn't they do the sweep? I'm not sure about induction- the drip is brutal, apparently but then you don't often hear the details of smooth, easy births...

My cervix wasn't even a little bit open. It was posterior too, but apparently that's fine if they can get a finger in. I definitely assumed a sweep was something that would just work, so I'm feeling pretty bummed.

Booked in tomorrow at 41 weeks. I'm naively hoping that the pessary might get things going enough so that I don't need the drip, but not getting my hopes up. I just don't want to be in hospital for ages.

Hello, I'm also 40+3 and had a failed sweep on my due date due to closed cervix. I've been having braxton hick type pains every 10 mins or so since last night so hoping when I go next week they can do a sweep or I go into labour naturally before then.

Hopefully yours will be the same :) it's frustrating though! Just want to meet my baby now!

I'm 41 weeks today and am booked in for a sweep, really hoping for a good result. I had to be induced the first time round and will try to avoid that if possible this time. I just feel ready now. And I'm getting sick of the constant "any sign?" Messages!!

Haha @glitterballbag I could have written that exact post! Sick of people asking if there's any sign as if I'd be sending updates on my cervix to all and sundry. I don't mind messages about how I'm doing, because they seem more concerned about me as a person rather than just as a baby making vessel.

Also booked for induction today. Hoping that things progress smoothly for us both.

@ajb17 fingers crossed you'll go into labour naturally before your next sweep.

I'm 41 weeks today, had a sweep last Tuesday. Lost my my plug on Wednesday have had the worst pains ever since, said I was 2cm at sweep, went to hospital last night as back pains and cramps are unbareable to be told I'm still only 2cm and went home. I can barely look after my 3yo getting of the bed is agony never mind walking. Booked in for Thursday! Needs to be all over now :(
