Just looking for some advice and not sure if this is the right place

i gave birth 17days ago now natural labour but i had a severe tear high up in my cervix had a massive blood loss and ended up in surgery so stitched inside and out, i'm still bleeding now sometimes still quite heavy not in any pain down there and can wipe after the toilet now ok although can still feel stitches

Just wondering how long did ppl bleed for afterwards?

I think my bleeding lasted for the best part of a month, then stopped! If you are worried speak to your Midwife though :) Mine told me I was ok unless I started passing clots that were bigger than a 50p.

About 5 weeks it's just got lighter as the weeks passed x

ShowOfHands · 10/07/2017 22:19

6 weeks is normal but can be less.

DavidPuddy · 10/07/2017 22:21

At least 6 weeks, maybe a bit longer.

laundryelf · 10/07/2017 22:21

Finally stopped 2 days before 6 week check appointment and first period arrived 3 weeks later even with successful breast feeding.

MiniAlphaBravo · 10/07/2017 22:24

Just over 6 weeks. Wasn't very heavy though. 17 days isn't that long so it's probably normal but depends how heavy it is. By now should be slowing down.

DuggeeHugs · 10/07/2017 23:02

6 weeks - gradually got lighter after 3 weeks. Seems very variable though and I remember being quite shocked at how long it took in the end!

CleverNever · 10/07/2017 23:04

Up to 6 weeks is normal.

10 weeks here. Emcs for twins. Apparently being a multiple Mum makes you bleed heavier for longer. Just wait until your periods come back. That's just a fresh level of Hell!
