How soon after csection did you ttc and Fall pregnant? - did your doctors recommend a specific waiting time between csections? Did you find that having a csection had an effect on how long it took to conceive baby number 2? Did you have an elective csection second time around - sorry for all the questions. Sorry for the bombarding you with so many questions we are thinking of trying to conceive again in the next few months after having a csection earlier this year- unfortunately I lost my daughter during labour so looking for some hopeful stories from others xx

They were 100% behind me having a c-section - it was actually their preference too. I think a lot of doctors do prefer you to have a section after a previous one.

The hospital were great - plenty of extra scans for reassurance, regular appointments with the consultant, and I was able to be admitted a couple of weeks before my planned section just to be monitored often.

My doctor actually had me come in for a chat when I was still ttc - to go through a plan of action type thing. We talked about how I wanted things to go for next pregnancy - scans, c-section, that sort of thing. Was very helpful. Maybe you could do that with your doctor?

I got told two years, as my first child was huge, got stuck and they did some pretty awful damage to me. I ttc after three years and even then had pains etc that would have been wa worse had I not waited.
If you had a routine section, no major damage, I think a year, or ten months sounds okay healing wise.

Flowers I'm so incredibly sorry for your loss. If you feel ready to try again then you should. Your consultant will know much better than your gp.

I had 2 sections 20m apart. No problems at all. Conceived easily and chose a section second time as my preference. They will definitely not refuse you. They cannot make you VBAC and shouldn't even try.

Very best of luck. I hope it all goes smoothly for you.

That's 20 months not 20 mins, obviously!

South84 Yes my placenta is anterior and low (not over my cervix though, I have had no bleeding or scar pain). It was flagged at my 12 week scan, so there is every chance it will move. Obviously they can only check this by scanning again. They will check at the 20 week scan, and I have another at 32 weeks specifically for this. I'm happy they're keeping an eye on it. The risk is far more connected to number of previous c-sections and previous placenta praevias, than it is to gap between sections. Even if my placenta is right over the scar, the chance of it growing into the scar after just one previous c-section is pretty low. So I'm not worrying about it unless it is confirmed.

My first was anterior too, didn't cause any problems, apparently that's just how I grow them!
