Tips to bring on labour!

And not sex - anything by sex!

I'm a few days over my due date, still plenty time for things to happen on their own but really want to avoid medical intervention for a couple reasons.

What got your labour started?

Seeing MW tomorrow so she'll maybe give me a sweep

Stretch and sweep worked for me! I was 6 days over when I had mine at 9am in the morning, contractions started at midnight, baby born 24hrs later with no other intervention. My midwife had a very good track record!

Fingers crossed it will get things going for me then!!

The day after my due date I happened to order an apparent 'mild' enchilada at a restaurant. 'Mild' my arse! 4 hours later I had my first contraction! Could be a coincidence but could have helped!

Still no action Sad

MW wouldn't do a sweep as baby's head was still very mobile and slightly back to back - not a great position.!

I've been having some serious and rhythmic BH tonight although no associated pains.

Back in on Fri to MW so will hopefully get sweep then!

I had a sweep on Saturday morning and baby was born 12/13 hours later. Head was well down though.

I just opened this thread to suggest sex Grin
I went 9 days overdue with DS2, I tried everything and nothing worked. Eventually decided to try sex and I went into labour less than 24 hours later! Could be a coincidence though...

Would walking help?(obviously not too far from the house)

Orangebird69 · 14/06/2017 23:38

I had a vibdaloo at 8pm. Waters brome 5 hours later.

Maverick66 · 14/06/2017 23:42

Ironing did it for me.
Good luck

Sex is out of the question, I've got horrible varicose veins in and around my vulva with this pregnancy which are uncomfortable and unsightly Sad

I'm walking around 2 miles a day with DDog, running around with toddler DD and am generally very active still.

Had a curry the other night but it didn't seem to do anything but give me heartburn

Bouncing on the birthing ball furiously.

Guess baby will come when ready but would love a magic remedy for a natural labour!

Er, did you vote labour?

GumDropTears · 15/06/2017 00:11

Maybe I should have!

I went more than two weeks overdue twice and I tried everything. Lots of sex, walking, sweeps, raspberry leaf tea, curry Did bugger all.
