I have had very painfull con5ractions in myback and my pelvis. Any position i mkve in doesnt work and makes kt worse when i move when i have them. They last over 40 seconds or a minute and are irregular. I had the sweep done 2 days ago and was told i wasnt dialated then and got told if they are close together to come bacm. I get them every q0 minjyes or less but i would like to know should i go back in. Im jver 40 weeks and am getting another sweep on monday but dont knowif i cant wait thatblong to see someone. I cant sleep for the last three nights Nd tonight was the worse. Waking up almost each time i had a contraction i wS even feeling them in my sleep and dreaming of them. Why dont i have them in my stomach. My stomach hardens when i get them but with no pain. Only sever pain which i cant talk through in my back, pelvis bum or vagina. Im so confused as with my first this didnt happen.

Could the baby be back to back? Not being dilated 2 days ago doesn't matter, this is now & things may easily have changed. Why don't you go in for a check up?

Yeah i might do. Im just worried they will think ive come in for nothing if not. Or what will happen if om not. Hopefully not back to back.

Definetly get checked over again, lots can change in 2 days.

Go, who cares what they think, just trust your instinct. You must be exhausted, they may be able to give you some pethadine to help you rest for a bit which in my case allowed me to relax enough to dilate!
Good luck OP, you can do this!!

Just go to the maternity ward.

I'd either go straight in or give them a call first and tell them what's going on, I bet they'd get you straight in anyway. Lots can happen in a very short space of time, 3 weeks ago I had my DD and I had painful contractions every 3 minutes but no dilation at all, then I was checked and I was 3 cm and 10 minutes later I was pushing and 20 mins after that baby was born. So it can happen fast! Good luck!

Go to the maternity ward, even if it is a false alarm better to know than end up having your baby on the bathroom floor! I'd been having contractions since the early hours and when I called at 7pm to say they were getting stronger and very close together the lady on the phone told me if I could speak I wasn't ready and not to come in. I went in anyway as I felt I knew my own body, after waiting to be seen for about an hour, low and behold I was 7-8cm dilated and had baby just under 3 hours later.

Wow silkpyjamasallday thats crazy. Good job you was in hospital. I have been in and been told in 2cm dialated and had another sweap. Been told my cervix is still high though so he hasnt dropped fully yet but i can feel him dropping during pains or inbetween and get alot of popping. Wont be long hopefully and have a ceeling hes trying to break my waters! Also been in pain alot more as he is back to back. Ouch
