many of you have recommended arnica for post cs, and i am putting together a little bag for SiL what is best?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

tablets really worked for me lovely one

Mumpbump · 19/03/2007 13:40

BTW, do NOT apply arnica to an open wound... One of my m/w told me to apply arnica cream to my episiotomy stitches (which we duly did) and it caused a very painful infection... I would get the homeopathic tablets instead. Lavender and tea tree oil for the bath.

I have to say i used tablets with my first c-section and thought I had a good fast recovery. I had another c-section 3 weeks ago and bought more tablets but didn't use them because I was worried about them being in lactose & sucrose as I am diabetic. This time my recovery was even faster and easier.

arnica cream must NOT be used on broken skin.

salt baths are great

tablets

tablets and then I used tea tree oil for bathing my wound - stopped it getting infected and helped it heal nicely. Few drops in some warm water and bathe the wound.

i had lavender essential oil in my bath it was fab

also comfy pj's if you can stretch to it

hjscho · 24/03/2007 21:19

I didn't use anything post cs and I healed well, but I do use aloe vera plants for almost everything else...not sure if the gel from the leaves would help you.

hjscho · 24/03/2007 21:20

I often have salt baths with tea tree and lavender, which might also be good. You'll have a good relaxing bath if nothing else!
