Just curious as I lost mine on Wednesday and this has not happened to me before (DSs labour started with contractions and DDs when my waters broke).

I am sure this is a how long is a peice of string question, but humour me

lol - would hate not to humour a pregnant woman

1st one - was about a day or so
2nd time - don't remember losing it, think it may have come out with waters (and birth soon after)

Miaou · 17/03/2007 19:35

lol wcl! Never lost it with dd1 and dd2 (not that I noticed anyway). Lost it about an hour before labour started properly with ds (but had been contracting on and off for a week by then).

lulumama · 17/03/2007 19:36

are you sure it was a show, lins?

WestCountryLass · 17/03/2007 19:49

lulumama · 17/03/2007 20:30

yes, that does sound like it WCL......

just with Lins saying a clear show, when you get to the end of pregnancy , you get increased discharge, which you can mistake for a show...

sideways · 17/03/2007 20:38

12 hours from show until waters broke.

octopussyintummy · 17/03/2007 20:38

WCL - I read your post as 'I am assuming it was mine' LOL!

octopussyintummy · 17/03/2007 20:39

Oops - meant to say had show in morning and went into labour that night - had him next afternoon

snipersmum · 17/03/2007 20:39

4 days - but I went in as I wsa so fed up with waiting, and they gave me a sweep, and DS2 came 10 hours later. Never saw it with DS1. Good luck

EllieK · 17/03/2007 20:40

octopussyintummy · 17/03/2007 20:42

lins1uk · 17/03/2007 22:10

Lins, i'm no expert having only got mine to go on, but I did Google and usually a show is blood tinged, either pink through to brownish mucousy discharge (hope you are not eating as TMI).

lulumama · 18/03/2007 11:43

big lump of mucousy discarge sounds about right !! LOL !

lins1uk · 18/03/2007 11:51

midwife said it sounded like a show thats why i thought it was!!

lulumama · 18/03/2007 11:52

iim sure it was then !! it is a good sign, as you know, things are definitely moving, cervix thinning and dilating...hope will be reading your birth announcement soon !

DD had a tiny loss about 6.30pm and went into labour in the night lost the rest in the morning few hours before she was born. DS lost it around the time I felt my first contractions.
