Hi,Im experiencing similar thing,im preg with first baby and due 2moro! dont know if my cervix is dilated or even effaced as no-one has checked me!Just sent2foetal assesment where they monitor the babys heartbeat & saw my off the chart contractions, still acted like im nuts(eventho the gp midwife referred me as my waters are leaking i cnt sleep for more than 2 hrs and vomit everything I eat) Im supposed to see midwife next mon -when im +5days,she said shel give me a sweep but if its another midwife she could say different as they all seem 2 contradict eachother. Ive been in agony for ages...hang in there, no matter what happens the baby has 2 come eventually and its very near!P.S. if theyre not regular pattern getting worse theyl just tel u its BH's

StrawberrySnowflakes · 14/03/2007 20:38

hiya..how di you get on?

Bucketsofdynomite · 14/03/2007 20:45

I had 15min contractions and back pain constantly for 2 weeks before my first was born. They came on quite suddenly but never got any closer. By 38 weeks I'd had quite enough and managed to get it going properly with some aerobic sex.
Had similar 'false labour' at 35wks with #2, enough to get a steroid injection, but it went away again that time.
Good luck.

I'm 39 wks tomorrow & like you i have been experiencing lots of painful BH& back ache and have done since 36 wks on & off.i was really concerned labour was staring & i just don't feel ready yet. Too many jobs to do.
Its not so painful i have to stop what I'm doing so i just carry on. It helps having a 2 yr old to run after!!
i figure that if it really is labour starting i am not going to be able to ignore it. I would rather not be messed about by midwives in hospital and be hooked up to machines that just serve to give you paranoia. I'll just get stressed out so I'm waiting until i can wait no more!!!

Sorry - I'm probably no help really. I just wanted to say I'm determined to hang on & relax this time (after a rough birth first time round). Pain hurts more if you think about it so I'm ignoring it as much as poss. When i can no longer talk then I'll phone the midwife!! (even tho i can't talk)

lins1uk · 15/03/2007 14:23

lol
looks like where in the same position then i have a 2 year old also to run about after been trying to keep my mind off pain by taking her out to playcentre etc hopefullly i wont go into labour while im out though lol.

if it is slow labour then try to drink loads of sugary drinks etc - i was in slow labour for 2 days and was getting contractions every 15 mins or so and they wouldn't speed up - i was advised my the MW to drink lucozade and eat sugary snacks - it seemed to work as 3 hours later it all started to speed up - don't know if it was co-incidence but won't do you any harm to try ...

lulumama · 18/03/2007 16:04

tips here to help bring on the baby! sex and nipple stim being the most succesful...sit on the gym ball and bounce, to help baby move down, and wriggle your hips/ belly dance.....have a bath or lie down (left side) somewhere quiet and dimly lit and visualise the baby moving down and the cervix opening...... and good luck !

lins1uk · 18/03/2007 16:31

will try those cheers for tips have noticed if i squat down feel the odd pain down there not sure what it means though!
