I wonder if any other ladies have a similar experience that I could get some advice from....
I have had 3 babes, my first I had a third degree tear, my second was sadly stillborn, and my rainbow also left me with a third degree tear all within the last 4 years. We are now trying again but I wondered what the chances are of it happening again and if anyone has experienced the same????

You could try the following Facebook page

I have had 2 x 3rd degree tears, don't intend to have another baby but my personal feeling is that I wouldn't risk it a third time as seems virtually certain to me that it would happen again, being scar tissue that has healed twice already (and not as well the second time) I don't think it would be very elastic any more! A consultant would give you the actual % chances though, as mine did when I was pg with 2nd (chances were I think 9% of it happening a second time). If the chances were it would happen again I wouldn't risk it due to chances of incontinence issues etc, although I have not had any issues before.

I had one 3a tear with my first. Though I healed well with no problems, for me, it wasn't even a discussion for my second birth. An ELCS was essential for me. It was a breeze. If I had a third it would unquestionably be another section.
