Lorin Lakasing vs Katrina Erskine - recent experiences anyone?

I am considering Lorin Lakasing at the Lindo and Katrina Erskine at the Portland for DC2. Ideally I am looking for someone who is highly professional but also has a good bedside manner. Would be grateful if mums could share their experiences with the two consultants and also their opinion on Portland vs Lindo. Thanks a lot!

Hi there, I don't know either consultant but I had DD at the Lindo in 2013 with Chrissie Yu and am doing exactly the same with DC2 due in Sept (all being well).

I thought the care at the Lindo was fantastic. I liked that all the emergency/special care stuff was right there at St Mary's next door.

I've been in and out of the Portland a bit & the reputation is obviously great, but the Lindo just feels...nicer.

I am with Lorin at the moment and with my first(2015) at the Lindo. The first and foremost reason I chose Lindo was that it is attached to St. Mary's which means that if anything was to go wrong especially with baby we had an emergency wing right next door. Portland didn't have that and if something were to go wrong they'd refer the patients to an NHS emergency ward anyway. So just made sense.
Lorin is amazing. Thorough and with great manners. Funnily enough my waters broke early (4days before I was due to have my c section with Lorin) and she was away. And Karl Murphy who is her partner just took over and did an emergency c section. No questions asked. No hassles. She'd done an amazing handover before going away and hence there were literally no questions! I am back with Lorin and booked into the Lindo (Infact did It today) for number 2!

They're both great . Pick the hospital you prefer .
