C section scar

Had a c section Monday. Keeping the area clean and patting dry. Any other tips? And going forward to reduce the look of the scar? Would you use bio oil? Any advice much appreciated.

Keep it dry, use a hairdryer after shower if necessary. Stick a maternity pad on your Bridget Jones pants to pad the scar from clothing or bumps. Don't use any oil until it is fully healed. Massage the area gently with your choice or underfunded oil or lotion. Take it easy and enjoy your newborn. Congratulations!

My surgeon said vitamin E oil. Also when it's healed, given it really deep massage to try to make sure the scar tissue doesn't form too badly.

Don't use a hairdryer. They are full of germs, not what you want in a surgical wound. Pat dry with a towel.

You'll probably find time your best friend. I've had two emcs and the scar is almost invisible.

I've attached a photo of my scar with an arrow showing where my scar starts. It really is almost invisible.

Stretchmarks aren't invisible though!

Blimey how lucky are you. How long ago was that? Did you use anything. Vitamin E oil sounds like a good idea.

My scar is also almost invisible. I was really surprised, so dont be too worried about it. I wouldn't do anything to it at all. Let it have plenty of air whilst healing and once it's healed possibly massage.

I did fuck all to mine and a couple of years later it's barely visible the stretch marks are another thing altogether. Actually quite sad about that as I liked having a war wound! But in my experience, ignoring seems to work pretty well if you want to disappear it.

I left mine alone, I don't even like touching it so I've never applied creams. I find it too weird when it's numb in certain parts, it makes me feel funny

I didn't touch it. Patted dry, left to air, that was it. Last baby was 5 years ago but it was barely noticeable within a year.

Mine has healed well but is pretty noticeable (after an EMCS 3.5yrs ago and an ELCS 14 months ago). The second one was a big transverse baby though and he ha to come out with forceps, so I don't think that helped, and they also commented on how thick my stomach muscle layers were (to my absolute amazement) so perhaps that made it trickier to achieve a neat finish! It doesn't bother me though - it's below the bikini line and is just one of those things. I have no belly stretch marks though - maybe I'd feel differently if I did. (Plenty on my thighs and hips though 🙄)

Beware of in growing hairs - my scar got infected twice, antibiotics both times, eventually I got fed up and investigated the little bump on my scar - and pulled out 3 massive ingrown hairs with tweezers! (Yes I know I shouldn't have messed with it! But this was after 3 months and it did heal up after that)
