Bleeding (lochia) is getting worse.

DD was born 5 weeks ago. Extremely quick birth in water pool and I suffered a haemorrhage afterwards due to placental membrane left behind and lost 2 litres of blood. I recovered really well and was home 2 days later with iron tablets. My bleeding was quite light and mw expected it wouldn't last too long. With DS is was heavy but ended after 4 weeks. I'm still bleeding but quite light and it's getting redder. I'm exclusively breastfeeding.
My GP check is 3 weeks away and not sure if it's worth going in before then? I need more iron tablets which is proving difficult as I can't get an appointment to get blood taken for another fortnight...so I'm not feeling 100% but toddler in nursery during the week so it's mostly just me and baby at home.

No experrience of this personally but if you are bleeding heavily I would ask for an emergency appt with the GP for tomorrow to check, especially if you are on your own. If it gets any worse phone out of hours for advice.

You should get it checked. It is probably nothing but it might mean an infection which needs antibiotics. Don't wait 3 weeks. Your DC rely on you so it is all the more important to look after yourself first.

Absolutely get it checked out. I'm sure the doctor won't mind.

Post birth (congratulations btw!) continuing heavy lochia can often signify infection or retained product. Given your history I would definitely seek advice this week.
