Induction question

Just thinking about my labour and wondered if anyone could help me answer a quick question.

If you are induced (pessary) but they do not break your waters, will the baby still come?
I know that babies can be born still in their sack but is this different if it is an induction rather than labour starting naturally?
Just musing and wondered if anyone here would know. I can't find an answer on Google.

Why do you ask?

I was induced twice: once they broke my waters, the other time they went themselves.

If you labour with the pessary then your waters may stay intact and yes babies can still be born in the membranes (known as en caul) with induction too. The membranes are actually quite stretchy!

However, most inductions will start with the pessary and move on to the membranes being broken by the midwife or doctor

I was induced with a pessary. Dd's head was too high to enable my waters to be broken safely. I went into labour about 12 hours later and my waters broke at 8cm, pretty similar to DS's birth which was spontanteous. Hope this helps.

I was induced and my waters didn't break. I then had an ARM (artificial rupture of membrane) by the obstetrician just before the pushing stage.

Why do you ask?

I just wondered tbh. It's only now that I'm really starting to piece together my induction/labour and am wondering if it would have been different if my waters had been broken.
Basically, I had the pessary and started with contractions within a couple of hours. Contractions every 4 minutes soon after and 3cm dilated.
I was told that delivery suite had become busy so I would have to wait for my waters breaking.
60 hours later I was still waiting and contracting every 3 minutes when they finally went on their own.
The feeling of pressure all of the way through and sense of relief when my waters finally went was huge.
Eventually 72 hours after my contractions became regular dd was born by c section after forceps wouldn't shift her. She was very stuck.

I wondered how common my experience was and if anybody knew how much difference it might have made.

It sounds very similar to my experience, TBH. They wanted to get things moving by breaking my waters, but had to wait until there was space in the labour suite, so it was all delayed by maybe 6-8 hours or so.

The breaking of my waters was hideously painful, by far the worst part of my labour.
