Andover birth centre

Hi has anyone given birth at Andover birth unit relatively recently or have any friends/ family that have? The only reviews I can find online are years out of date and I think it has closed and reopened since then! Most real life people I speak to have gone to Basingstoke or Winchester so not used the birth centre.

I used the centre a number of years ago and my child was left with brain damage - please go to winchester hospital

I gave birth at Basingstoke but have heard good things about the birth centre. It had a big overhaul and reopen a few years ago

It has very positive reviews on local fb sites - (search Spotted in Andover page) I used it for pre and post natal care but gave birth in Winchester (high risk)
Staff are lovely and the care I had was excellent. Slightest risk of any issues and you will be taken straight to Winchester I believe.

I went there for my pre-natal care, lovely midwives, especially Joe. Couldn't give birth there because I had twins

I would still go to a main hospital because i had slightest problem and they didn't send me to a hospital.
I hope things have changed since my child was born there. I suppose that its best to have all views wilst deciding what is best. Im just being truthful and putting my experience forward as negative issues arent usually noted or discussed in an open manor.

I used it for DD1. Had a good experience - very caring staff. I ended up in Winchester hospital because the labour went on so long and they thought she may have turned breech but they transferred me as soon as they thought there might be a problem. Winchester hospital I thought was awful - under staffed and overwhelmed staff on the post natal unit. Wish I could have stayed at Andover.
