when to go to hospital???

This will be my 3rd labour, I can't decide when to go in. My previous labours have been pretty swift 4 hrs for ds1 and 2 hrs for ds2. This time I will (all being well) deliver at the local birthing centre. I live at the bottom of the drive and can walk it in about 5 mins (not when in labour I might add lol) My question is, how long would you leave it? 5 mins, 3 mins or just play it by ear???

If it was me, I'd phone them after 1/2 hr of proper contractions and explain how quick your others were and then wander on over! If the worse comes to the worst, they can come to you?!

Hmmmm, I was thinking of staying at home till the last poss minute. Keeping my fingers crossed that dp won't go to hossi without me again lol, to be fair he realised half way there and turned back lol. this time I'm only a few mins away lol

I think this being your 3rd, you should be 'well practised', so sounds good! The only thing is that if it truely is the last minute, you may find it very difficult to walk - perhaps your DH could stick you in a wheelbarrow and wheel you in?

Thought we might use the car, unless he's already up there lol. Failing that a taxi or a neighbour with a car (or a wheelbarrow lol)
