LGI or St James' hospital in Leeds?

I'm down for St James' but when we went there for my ultrasound it was a bit scabby, there were some dodgy characters around the building and even dodgier security staff escorting them out the building, it was also a bit dilapidated in places but I haven't actually seen the labour or maternity wards, just the prenatal bit. The staff were nice which I suppose is all that counts but has anybody got any experience to offer? I know NHS is all gonna be similar. I'm wanting a water birth if I can get one on the day -anyone know which is better for that?

The only info I can find about how they compare is from 2012!

Hi, I just had my daughter at LGI last week. My eldest was born in s different part of the country. Our experience of LGI compared to our first experience was fantastic. The only downside is parking but if that's the only negative, I'd take it- I also had a long stay 5 nights so really got to sample it. The staff were wonderful.

I only have limited experience of friends who have been to Jimmy's but it does feel as though more of them have ended up with assisted deliveries for what it is worth.

Have a look st the which birth choices website- I think you could do worse than LGI though X

I had both of mine at Jimmys and best care I've received tbh.

The maternity ward and the staff are amazing. Don't judge by the outside

Thank you -all good advice! It looks like it'll be ok whichever one I end up at which is reassuring.
