Propess induction vs the gel??

When I was induced with my previous two children I was given a double dose of the gel as cervix wasn't favourable and I went into labour in about 3 hours both times....now they use propess instead and I've heard so many stories of it taking days to work? On the plus side there have been some changes to my cervix this time, plus my body has done labour twice before but I'm terrified of it taking ages to kick-start things? Anyone got any words of wisdom? I go in on Wednesday at 7am x

I had propess at 37 weeks with my first & woke up contracting at 2am.
Sent up to delivery as 4cm at 9am. Waters broken at 1:45 then DS out at 2pm.

I was already 1cm when they put it in so don't know if that helped.

Good luck & try to stay active as much as possible is my advice.

Fingers crossed, I was 1cm at my sweep yesterday and she was able to stretch to 2cm. I really hope it happens naturally before Wednesday but doubt it will!

I had propess: inserted at 7pm Sunday evening went into labour at around 7pm Monday evening. DS was born 3 hours and 45mins later.

Lots of luck.

I had propess about 1pm. Contractions started 5pm. Baby born 4am. I was already favourable but not dilated when they inserted it.

I had my baby 3 weeks ago. I was induced due to pre eclampsia.

Cervix wasn't "favourable" I was 40 +3 first baby. Sweeps hadn't worked.

Thursday, I had the propess tampon thing at midday. It was shite, did nothing, fell out about a million times. Other lady on my ward having the same induction had the same issues.

Fell out for the last time at midnight, they gave up and left me to sleep.

9am following day inhad the prostaglandin gel. Hit active labour at 13.30, baby born at 17:41 Grin

My trust typically do the less aggressive induction first (the stupid propess tampon) then shift onto the more aggressive gel if that fails.

Thanks ladies, I'm still hoping for spontaneous labour but only got just over 48 hours for that to happen Sad I have been having major pains in my cervix tonight while sat on the birthing ball but it has settled now. I'm hoping if anything that these pains mean my cervix is more favourable so that induction will hopefully happen quickly.
