Induction nightmare... help???

I was brought into hospital yesterday for the prostagladin tablets, the first one didnt work. The second was given at 10.30pm aneld since then I have been getting quite intense cramps. I was told i may need another this morning but i was told i was going to labour ward for waters broke. An emergency came in and i have literally sat here all day waiting to go down then they tell me it will be tomorrow (hopefully). I have not been examined all day, just plied with codine and paracetamol for pain relief. I haven't been on the monitor or anything. Can anyone advise me what to do? I dont know whether to ask to be examined?

I think worth asking yes. I feel for you. The main thing I regret about my (horrible) induction was not speaking up more.
You don't have to be bossy about it, just ask, it's what they're there for.

Ask a midwife what's happening and if possible for monitoring if you're worried.

And if you feel things have progressed and you may be dilating ask about being examined, see what they say. Good luck! :)

You should be on the monitor every four hours. Kick up a stink.

Glad i asked. They put me straight on the monitor and gave me another pessary because cervix still feels closed. She said if they had tried to break water's they probably wouldnt have been able to so would have probably wasted another day tomorrow. Lets hope this one works and baby comes tomorrow!

Jumpingcold - misinformation giving is not helpful. It is not a national guidance to do 4hrly CtG on inductions. It is based on a trust policy. Depends on why you are being induced. My hospital is 6hourly whilst the pessary is in for high risk inductions and 24hrly for postdates inductions, a lot of hospitals do outpatient inductions meaning you go home with the pessary in.

OP - if you are not sure about something, just ask your midwife. They are there to help you. Good luck
