Strong period pain type pain

Peopleplease · 27/12/2016 18:02

My first labour was kickstarted because I had a urine infection. So wasn't quite standard.

I'm 40+4 and am having strong period pain type pains. 5 minutes apart.

Could this be it?

I think so!

Put your TENS machine on if that's what you've chosen. I didn't like it at first but after 30 minutes, didn't want to take it off Wink

Good luck!

Sounds like it to me. Good luck!

No TENS machine. Just wondering when to call hospital/PIL to mind DD.

You could call the hospital now and they'll tell you whether you should go in now or wait a bit longer.

pinguina16 · 27/12/2016 18:18

I'd call your PIL now. Labour can be unpredictable (and suddenly ramp up for example).

Call the hospital when you can't string a conversation / thought together anymore and the contractions are the only thing you can deal with.

The dog and cat keep looking at me. The dog in particular seems quite worried!

I'd call PIL so they are prepared just in case. I wouldn't call the labour suit until the pains get a little stronger. Also be aware that second labours can be much quicker. Good luck x

Peopleplease · 27/12/2016 18:44

I need to give the hospital an hours notice if possible so they can pull my file.

PIL have been warned they might be needed. But DH told MIL to take the car keys off of FIL till we call again.

If that's the case then I'd ring the hospital and they will advise you. Exciting times!

Heirhelp · 27/12/2016 19:21

Our hospital advised to call when you have 3 contractions in 10 minutes but give them a ring and ask.

Peopleplease · 27/12/2016 19:50

Called the hospital - they said to hang at home for now.
