Early labour, planned section question.

Morning all.

So, I gave a section planned for Wednesday but sods law, the day of my son's Christmas party, my plug has gone and I'm getting niggles.

I'm going to call in in a mo as I'm asking for am emcs, my question is.....for the elcs I'm on hunger strike the night before and ha e pills to take for antacid etc, what do I o now? Should I eat something today knowing I'll likely have a section later today??? Drink??

Any advice would he great. Thanks

They won't be keen to do it if you've had a big meal recently but will do it if necessary, like they'd operate on someone who had been in a car accident if necessary. However you don't want to have to put up with early labour in hospital while they say they want to wait another four hours, etc.

I would have snacks. So couple of slices of toast now and see how the niggles develop.

Thanks both. Good advice possum. I'll stop cooking the full English then! Grin hilariously, since I posted I dont fancy anything. Had a couple of buttered crackers and some hot water.

Almost certain it's go time as I'm urm..clearing out...Blush

Don't worry about what you have eaten. Just eat small snacks to keep your energy up. I had an emcs after going into labour before a planned elcs and I was just given a cup of some medicine to drink. Was totally fine. Good luck!

Yes to all of this - eat and drink as normal in my opinion. I had an EMCS 1 week ago today and was starving hungry and really thirsty afterwards. Take some bottles of water/still lucozade so you don't have to wait for a drink when you need it. They kinda forgot about me in hospital and I didn't eat for 36hrs.
