Help! Periods after DC1?

Hi all,

Just having a bit of a panicky flap (isn't anxiety wonderful!) as my DS is 7 1/2 weeks old and I've had no period as of yet and no indication that AF may be rearing her ugly head!

Thing is, I'm now desperately flapping that I may already be pregnant again. This is absolutely ridiculous as we've only done the deed 3 times since DS was born and each time we've used a condom. But I had some rather awful stomach cramps, as though I'd done a million crunches one day last week which stopped me walking properly and I've felt sick the last couple of mornings. Anxiety me has convinced myself that I'm pregnant despite sensible me knowing that can't be the case!

Just looking for some reassurance that there is still time for AF to show. When did your periods return after DC1?

I should mention DS is FF 

Hi Bessiilouise I didn't get my AF until 8 months after giving birth but that was because I was breastfeeding. X

I was mix feeding dd1 so not exclusively BF which is what you need to do if having the full stopping of AF. I still didn't have one by 12 weeks. No idea after as got the implant but have heard many FFing Mums be 8-12 weeks before AF starts. Often having the cramps and mood swings but not the bleeding.

Alternatively, was your labour smooth? My labour with both DDs wasn't great so did occasionally get cramping/aching a few months later.

I think it was 7/8 weeks after dd1 and 11 weeks with dd2 as I bf for longer.

I bf both of mine and my period returned 6 weeks and 1 day after. Right, both time. Like bloody clockwork!

I formula fed DD and it took 12 weeks to the day to come back. Bleeding post partum was only short too.. So I was panicking!

Actually came on exactly a year after my last period before I got pregnant with DD. V odd, lol!

I mixed fed and my periods didn't come back until DD was 14 months, so I wouldn't worry OP x
